All three State Hygienic Lab locations (Coralville, Ankeny, and Lakeside) are closed on the following days in observance of Christmas and New Years:  

• Thursday, December 25 

• Friday, December 26 

• Thursday, January 1

If it is an emergency, please contact the State Hygienic Laboratory Duty Officer via Campus Security at 319-335-5022. Calls are answered 24 hours a day, seven days a week. 

• Sample receipt Lockers are available from 6 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 27^th at the Coralville facility.  

  • Both refrigerated and non-refrigerated lockers are available in the Sample Receiving vestibule.  

  • Instructions are located on the wall next to the locker system. 

• Newborn Screening testing is performed seven days a week, including weekends and holidays. For Newborn screening questions please call 515-725-1632 or 515-725-1635 for assistance.   

The following services will continue as usual during these days:  

• Critical and outbreak testing will be performed on weekends and holidays as needed.
• The courier will run as usual, for Clinical and Newborn Screening questions over the holidays and weekend call STAT Courier Dispatch at 636-561-2518 or dispatch@stat-courier.com.
