The State Hygienic Laboratory is CLIA accredited to perform identification services for the diagnosis of fungal infections from clinical specimens and referred isolates.

Testing Methods and Expertise

Testing methods and expertise include: 

• Candida auris colonization screening and confirmatory identification
• D2 LSU Ribosomal rDNA sequencing for fungal identification
• Fungal culture and growth from selective media 
• Macroscopic and microscopic examination of colonies for fungal identification
• Matrix assisted laser desorption time-of-flight (MALDI-TOF) for yeast identification
