In observance of Memorial Day, the State Hygienic Laboratory Sample Receiving Window and COVID-19 Testing Hotline will be staffed as follows.

Memorial Day Holiday Hours*

*Throughout the holiday, the State Hygienic Laboratory will accession samples that are transported by the courier. The courier will run as usual throughout the holiday.

In the event of an emergency, call 319-335-4500 and follow instructions for contacting the Duty Officer. Calls are answered 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Newborn screening, tuberculosis and rabies testing is performed daily. Critical and outbreak testing is performed on weekends and holidays as necessary.
