Lab Symposium registration opens

Those who help assure the safety of drinking water and wastewater treatment will meet for the annual Laboratory Symposium on Thursday, Sept. 28, in the FFA Enrichment Center on the Des Moines Area Community College campus in Ankeny.

This is the 50th anniversary of the symposium hosted by the State Hygienic Laboratory and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. It is led by experts in environmental health, water quality, radiochemistry and quality assurance for chemists, laboratory specialists, water and wastewater operators, consultants and other environmental health specialists who are affiliated with municipal water systems and wastewater treatment systems. All interested parties are welcome to attend.

Participants may receive five hours of credit for either wastewater (WW), water treatment (WT) or water distribution (WD). Hours will not be split among these three.

Online registration is available on the Hygienic Laboratory website. Registration deadline is Sept. 19.
